On 03/02/2014 the Macomb Police Department, along with assistance from the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshals, was able to locate and apprehend Francisco Javier Villa in Aurora, Colorado. Mr. Villa was taken into custody without incident. Investigation by Immigration and Custom Officials determined that Villa was actually Jose Bustos-Bravo who was 45 years of age.
Bustos-Bravo was interviewed as to the whereabouts of Juan A. Bustamante, a 65 year old pipeline worker that had disappeared under mysterious circumstances on 02/27/14. Bustos-Bravo admitted to authorities in Colorado to his involvement in the disappearance of Bustamante. Bustos-Bravo indicated that Bustamante is deceased and revealed the possible location of Bustamante’s body. Unfortunately, after providing information to investigators, Bustos-Bravo took his own life.
