Latest Development on the missing person’s case involving Juan Bustamante and Francisco Villa
Members of the Macomb Police Department, McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, Adams County Emergency Management and the McDonough County Reserves completed two days of searching through the landfill north of Macomb yesterday. In addition, working with Waste Management supervisors, Officers also checked numerous dumpsters along the pipeline right-of-way. The purpose of this search was to locate Juan Bustamante’s body.
In his statement to authorities Bustos-Bravo made statements that led authorities to believe that Bustamante’s body may have been taken to the local landfill or possibly dumped in one of these dumpsters along the pipeline right of way. Bustamante’s body may be rolled into a black blanket that was also rolled into a large piece of carpeting.
While this avenue of investigation did not produce Bustamante’s body it does not mean the end of the search for him. The Macomb Police Department will be exploring other information and gathering data to determine other areas that may need to be searched.
The Macomb Police Department asks citizens who live in southern McDonough County, Schuyler County and parts of Western Fulton County, especially those areas near the pipeline, to be vigilant in looking for anything they think is out of place. If citizens know of areas where illegal dumping often occurs or they know of areas where they may have burn piles they are urged to let authorities know. If a citizen locates anything suspicious they are urged to contact local authorities to let them investigate.
