On 04/21/2015 at approximately 10:00 AM, a search warrant was conducted on a residence located on North Prairie Avenue in Macomb. In addition to the search warrant, officers had a federal arrest warrant for Travaughn L. Miller stemming from weapons charges.
Both warrants were the result of a several month-long investigation by the Macomb Police Department, McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, and Western Illinois University’s Office of Public Safety.
When officers served the search warrant, Miller attempted to flee out the back door of the residence but was quickly taken into custody by awaiting officers. Over fifty grams of cannabis and over $2,000 were recovered from the residence.
As a result of the warrants, the following people were arrested:
Travaughn L. Miller, age 30, of Macomb was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Devon A. Simpson, age 24, of Macomb was arrested for Manufacture/Delivery Cannabis 30-500 grams.
Michael S. Huggins, age 34, of Macomb was arrested for Possession Cannabis under 2.5 grams.
This investigation highlights the cooperative efforts of the Macomb Police Department, McDonough County Sheriff’s Office and Western Illinois University’s Office of Public Safety in keeping our community safe.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
